Why isn't EPG workging on BH yet?

bjorntj

I keep coming back to try BH, because I really like it.. But I always have to go backto my backup image because EPG is not working...

It's usually 50/50 chance for it working or now when downloading... No matter if I choose CrossEPG or BH EPG, after I download EPG info (from Rytec Norway) and go to look at the EPG info, it's often blank... If I then try some more download, if I am lucky, I suddenly have EPG data...

This is the log from CrossEPG on a download that apparently was successful but no EPG data was found...:

Regards,

I think it's a CrossEPG problem.
Have you used the BH integrated EPG?

Vu+ Newbie
Yes, I have tried BH Epg, same problem there... Also tried XEPGDB with CrossEPG (against Rytec Norway) and still same problem...

And what's strange is that the same config works as it should on images based on OpenPLi...

Well I have just tried it with Rytec in CrossEPG and also with Rytec in BH epg.

Both working for me, with listings from today until wednesday.

And you are using Rytec Norway? But the problem is that it work sometimes... :-|

BTJ
Yes using Rytec Norway.

Now if it works sometimes and not others, then it is not an issue with the BH image is it ???

If it was an image issue it wouldn't ever work.

Yes, I would agree... But the problem is that I can run other images for several months with no EPG problems at all... (been runing OpenVIX for 3 months now and no problems). But as soon as I try BH again, EPG problem surfaces... And since the one change is the image, I can not see how this is not a BH problem....

Ok I think the ViX image uses CrossEPG to download the epg, and this is also an option in BH.

Make sure you have it configured propperly, and also delete any old crossEPG info from your storage device (usb stick / hdd whichever you are using to store the epg data).

Then try again using CrossEPG, I have just done this 5 / 6 times in a row with no issue's.

Already deleted all occurences of epg.dat and crossepg files everywhere I can find it...
Not at home at the moment, so I can not try it now but will try again later tonight...

btw, can I run the download of epg data manually and get more logs?

To fully remove all epg data, you need to telnet into your box, and then use the init 4 command to halt the box.

This will allow you to ftp into the box and remove all the epg data from all locations, and then use the reboot command to restart the box and it will load with no epg data that had been saved in ram then.

Yes, I know... This is what I have done... but I always uses init 5... :)
I have been in this game many years now... :)

I am using the latest BH image on Vu+Duo and since I upgraded I cannot get epg to work. When I click the download now it goes to the next screen and completes in about 2 seconds with no data downloaded. Any ideas or is this a 'feature' of the new build? It isn't much use if you cannot set up reminders and recordings in advance.

Few providers not working lately (from the sources)...use CorssEpg>XEPGDB providers....and update the xepgdb before U download the EPG...!
Have Fun!

Did you activate opentv option in EPG settings?
