Rs232 to USB won't work. You need a computer with com port and properly serial connection. See if you can take it to ur local TV repair shop

I have an old computer upstairs which might do te trick . I have read that a lot of people have this problem over night so hoping a fix comes out of the Chinese !

You will need a proper com port which is rare in pc's nower days. USB to serial or rs232 will not work as per my knowledge

Yeah you are not alone with this problem. I am sure someone will find a solution soon. Where did you get it from. Send it back and get an original solo 2 they are well worth 300 quid.

Ps. Keep me updated on how you get on. Like I said before sorry you having trouble. I know how it feels to have a bricked box. At least your box hasn't burnt like mine I could smell my f5 box.
