HOWTO DREAMSET : make your own channel list

For those who want to make their own channel list with favourites easy and quick, Dreamset is one of the best tool.

First : DOWNLOAD DREAMSET ON YOUR PC

A- SETUP :
1- click on "SETUP" icon
2- Fill in the parameters and choose "enigma2 ver 4" in "firmware section"
3- Save configuration
5- Ckick "OK" button

B- NEW SETTINGS FROM INTERNET :
1- Click on "NEW" icon
2- Select "INTERNET SETTINGS"

C- SETTING INTERNET UPDATE
1- Tick the sat(s) you want
2- Select the categories you desire
3- Click on "DOWNLOAD" button and wait until completed

D- DOWNLOADED CHANNELS
The screen is divided into 3 main vertical sections:
Left : All channels
Center : Channels into the favourite list (named HD services)
Right : the different bouquets previously selectioned and downloaded

E- MAKE YOUR OWN FAVOURITES
1-Delete the default "HD Services" in the center section

2- Drag and drop the bouquet you need from the right part to the center part

F- CLASS YOUR CHANNELS IN THE ORDER YOU WANT
1- Click on the bouquet in the center part you want to edit

2- Drag and drop the channel you want to be in first position (at this stage with right click on the list you can sort list by channel name, then it is faster to class them)
3- and so on....
The first channel in the first favourite list will have the number 1, the second channel number 2, and so on...

G- SAVE YOUR FAVOURITES ON THE PC
1- Click on "SAVE AS" icon
2- Create a new folder
3- Select "ENIGMA2 VER 4"
4- Give name
5- Save

H- TRANSFER TO YOUR VUPLUS
1- Click on "TRANSFER" icon
2- Click on "WRITE" button

RESTART YOUR VUPLUS.....And enjoy your own fresh settings. :)


I- IF YOU WISH TO SAVE MEMORY ON YOUR VUPLUS
You can delete from the main list on the left part the channels you will never use :
1- Click on "provider" then the channels will be sorted out by provider name
2- Select with shift key the channels from a provider you do not need; then delete
Repeat for all un-needed channels and save then transfer your settings as explained above

J- EDITING EXISTING CHANNELS
1- Click on "TRANSFER" icon
2- Click on "READ" button
then follow procedure as decribed above from "CLASS YOUR CHANNELS IN THE ORDER YOU WANT" chapter.

Here we go !

No more excuse for black screens or the famous "SID not found in PAT" message !!!!



There are some advanced editing functions in Dreamset, I will detail if you wish. ;)

I downloaded a sat & sent to my vu ultimo and it overwrote the previous channels.
What am i supposed to do if i want to add some sats to what is already in my box?

Open dreamset
Open your current list you did save (select "lamedb") ; or click on transfer, then on read.
In the upper middle part (where your favourites are), select all your favourites, then right click, then copy
Select icon new, then internet settings
Tick ALL THE SATS you want, including the ones you had before
Once every thing is downloaded, in the center part, first delete "hd channels" , then right ckick still pointing in upper center part, then paste : all your previous favourites are back in the order you gave before.
Finally, drag and drop the new favourites of new sat from the right part to the center part.
Class them, save, transfer to your vuplus
Restart vuplus

Total time....less than 3 minutes :) Much faster than a new scan....

1. why are some channels green
2. why do some glasses have blue background
3. red stop sign - porn?
4. if I delete a channel in left pane, it remains in my bouquet?

1- Green color means the channel is present in several bouquets lists (yellow means list is empty)
2- not sure but may be signal new channels (or new frequency)
3- Do not understand what you call "red stop"
4- If you delete a channel in left column the channel will still be present in your favourite but you will have "sid not found in pat" if you zap on it; you will have the same message if you edit and modify a channel in bouquet list without modifiying the relevant channel in the main left column.

May be U need to do network configuration!

Menu>Setup>>System>>>Network>Network wizard

You can verify :

Click on "Setup button" , then click on "test configuration"
If it is ok, then close that window and click on the arrow close to setup button , and check your device is selected, if not select it, and all should be fine :)

i did what u said but i got this msg ( connecting to box fail , plz check ur ftp parameters.)

Can you access through telnet to your box with the same IP you wrote in Dreamset ?

If yes, then you have certainly a problem with your firewall.

Check if you have dreamset in the exceptions of your firewall. If not add it.

Yes you can use what you have in your DM800.
Just check in setup menu that firmware is set on "Enigma2 ver4 http reload"

Hi all
I'm a complete newbie on how to configure the box.
By the way
I own a solo2 box, that is correctly running with all sat scanned automatically during box installation.
I modified the root password and now I can login correctly with telnet and ftp (filezilla).
I have followed this guide, but I downloaded the latest dreamset (2.38)
I used enigma 2 ver 4 (http reload) as firmware version
It connects correctly (user/passw ok) but I receive a warning message on the satellite.xml file and an error message on the lamedb file..
Then if I try to connect and write or read data I receive a message that says there were errors on the process...
What should it be?

I use dreamboxEdit with my solo2 and cannot complain about it at all. Do not really know dramset - I've never had drambox (what's the shame!:p); had different e1 and e2 boxes :)
Just try google and get new version of dreamboxedit (I use 5.2.0.0) and remember to change options under tools/options to enigma2 receiver :p
Remember your username and pass need to be changed in tools/options and IP address..
