HOWTO DREAMSET : make your own channel list

Are you sure you did save the general settings as given in "A" step, and therefore you did save as enigma2 ver4 as explained in "G" step ?

I receive a satellite.xml file error...
This is the message from enigmedit network read function.
With filezilla I can login and download on my pc satellite.xml ...

You should update your satellites.xml file.
There are some online web site who generates it for you.

Thanks a lot for the guide, however there must be something I don't understand:
- First of all, should I use Dreamset while my SOLO is awake or in stand by?
- Does 'write' in 'transfer' automatically overwrites the existing list, or do I have to manually go into 'setup' then 'service searching' in my SOLO?
- Sometimes, I get duplicate satellite entries in the channel list. Is that logical even though they concern the same Satellite !?

point1 : no matter if your vuplus is awake or in standby; the best is to resart GUI after uploading new parameters.
Point2 : Write transfer overwrites your old settings (provided of course you did setup properly dreamset with the correct locations of different files : Enigma2 ver 4)
Point3 : There is no real duplicate because the same channel can have different SID especially if present in several bouquets.

For those who want to make their own channel list with favourites easy and quick, Dreamset is one of the best tool.

First : DOWNLOAD DREAMSET ON YOUR PC

A- SETUP :
1- click on "SETUP" icon
2- Fill in the parameters and choose "enigma2 ver 4" in "firmware section"
3- Save configuration
5- Ckick "OK" button

B- NEW SETTINGS FROM INTERNET :
1- Click on "NEW" icon
2- Select "INTERNET SETTINGS"

C- SETTING INTERNET UPDATE
1- Tick the sat(s) you want
2- Select the categories you desire
3- Click on "DOWNLOAD" button and wait until completed

D- DOWNLOADED CHANNELS
The screen is divided into 3 main vertical sections:
Left : All channels
Center : Channels into the favourite list (named HD services)
Right : the different bouquets previously selectioned and downloaded

E- MAKE YOUR OWN FAVOURITES
1-Delete the default "HD Services" in the center section

2- Drag and drop the bouquet you need from the right part to the center part

F- CLASS YOUR CHANNELS IN THE ORDER YOU WANT
1- Click on the bouquet in the center part you want to edit

2- Drag and drop the channel you want to be in first position (at this stage with right click on the list you can sort list by channel name, then it is faster to class them)
3- and so on....
The first channel in the first favourite list will have the number 1, the second channel number 2, and so on...

G- SAVE YOUR FAVOURITES ON THE PC
1- Click on "SAVE AS" icon
2- Create a new folder
3- Select "ENIGMA2 VER 4"
4- Give name
5- Save

H- TRANSFER TO YOUR VUPLUS
1- Click on "TRANSFER" icon
2- Click on "WRITE" button

RESTART YOUR VUPLUS.....And enjoy your own fresh settings.


I- IF YOU WISH TO SAVE MEMORY ON YOUR VUPLUS
You can delete from the main list on the left part the channels you will never use :
1- Click on "provider" then the channels will be sorted out by provider name
2- Select with shift key the channels from a provider you do not need; then delete
Repeat for all un-needed channels and save then transfer your settings as explained above

J- EDITING EXISTING CHANNELS
1- Click on "TRANSFER" icon
2- Click on "READ" button
then follow procedure as decribed above from "CLASS YOUR CHANNELS IN THE ORDER YOU WANT" chapter.

No more excuse for black screens or the famous "SID not found in PAT" message !!!!



There are some advanced editing functions in Dreamset, I will detail if you wish.

I know this thread is a bit old but heljik (newbie ;-)) asked (and I've asked myself the exact same question):
2. in dreamset, why are some channels with glasses on a blue background :
Take it from another newbie: in "Service Properties", Tv channel are type=1, radio type=2, etc... and some channels (those with glasses on a blue backgroung) are type = 25 (or 0x19 in hexa) meaning MPEG-4 HD digital television service... trust wikipedia on this
I would imagine that type 17 (or 0x11 in HEX) meaning MPEG-2 HD digital television service might share the same "logo"

Sorry, just needed to share my findings and give some meaning to my waste of time.

Hi there

my Dreamset is not connecting to the Duo² box anymore ever since I had to freshly installed my Windows.
I have tried all kinds of settings as you guys suggested above but with no positive result.
Tried DreamboxEDIT too, same result !

As far as i remember, my settings were as showing in the pictures I've attached.

user: root
pass: vuplus
IP: is correct

with these three I by the way can connect to the box with the FTP prog FileZilla,
so where am I doing it wrong?

I also tried with Windows Firewall OFF (home/public) ... didnt work either !

please HELP.

Change the password to dreambox instead of vuplus... And let us know if it worked.

by the way, is there anyway, we could download channels from Lyngsat for Dreamset rather than KingOfSat ?
I need channel lists from like, 76.5E, 83E, etc

Glad you have that sorted, and as regards to downloading from lyngsat, I don't think there's a workaround that, but hopefully the author of this plugin will add that someday..

This has been a great help I`ve sorted my Sat Ch`s miles better now. I have a VU+ Duo and it works better now. I also have a Dreambox Clone DM 518-s (like a DM500) I used the same setting (changed any HD ch`s to normal SD ones) and got it matched up same Ch` as my DUO now.

So now the wifes happy as same Ch`s settings.


One point when I save the settings to my PC (the Dreambox settings with no HD ch`s) what`s the file name.Is it still lamedb also what is the type file (as in Save As Type)
