Hi,
Has anyone tested XBMC PVR plugin for Vu+ boxes with Vu+ Solo2 ?
I have several XBMC boxes in many rooms and have used a pc with DVB-S USB tuner and DVBViewer, XBMC DVBViewer PVR plugin.
My goal is to replace the PC with Vu+ SOLO2 and hopefully use the XBMC PVR VuPlus plugin (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=PVR/Backend/VUPlus)
Another question, is Vu+ SOLO2 Enigma2 based?

Not tried the plugin but the box is enigma2 based.

Here is my impression of solo2:

On my reccomendation friend of mine bought solo2 and left it with me for 24hrs to install and test it.
I was mostly interested in tuner performance, and I tested it on my setup where I now have duo working.

Yes I was WOWed, as the results were astounding, for example on channel with 40% signal quality on duo, solo2 got 49%, on channel where I have 51% with duo, solo2 got 57%.

Now I wondered why such 5-20% increase on signal quality with solo2, when we know that duo and solo2 use same silicon based tuners. Probably it's due to the CPU power of solo2, so it can process more packets, and that's why we see this increase.

Put everything aside, solo2 is great receiver, ruthlessly fast, it took only several seconds to install latest BH from USB, not to mention the boot speed, and the speed of crossEPG and some other hevier plugins.

At the end I wonder what new duo2 will look.

Bcs it's not ready I would recomend to VU+ engeneers to put same tuner setup with duo2, and add aditional two slots for plugable tuners, this will be great IMHO.

Here is my video about image freezing issue, all channels are free to air..check your boxes maybe you discover same problem! I tested all the images and all have this bug, sometimes you have to wait 2-3 minutes, sometimes freezing more, sometime less! The solo 2 tuner sensibility its almost the same if i compared to my uno, and i dont have signal on this transponders:

Sorry i'm lost, where in that video is it freezing ?

I can see some "hickups" on the fluidity of the picture. Its not natural smooth, at least on this video, i dont know if this happens in all boxes.

what channel list do you use? have you got satellites.xml in channel list folder?

and freezing issues: how your TV is linked with receiver? do you use hdmi?

therefore
it seems that all your information is not accurate .

My advice
Use ready SAT list of known authors.
Even those are not 100%
If something is missing
In this case, make scan
after.
If necessary, EDIT the list with dreamboxedit.
For mpeg4 is that I know you need a list
but i have not tested .
