Hi everyone i seem to have a problem with my vu duo box.When i have it switched on the banner on the bottom keeps flashing i cant get into my menu screen.It also keeps going to a screen asking to do a back up really annoying.Even if i do this back up and try to restore i just keep getting the same problem when this is completed can anyone help.Greatly appreciated.

Explain better what happen because is not clear
I cant access either my epg or my menu button as yhe display banner constantly flashes then I get the message to back up the black hole file ive done this also tried reinstalling the back up and I still get this annoying now and next banner flashing on the bottom of my screen I have a feeling I need to completely do a fresh reinstall of black hole I was hoping this was not the case I just dont know why or whats caused this to happen

I suggest to reflash your box with a clean image.

You can install the Black Hole Vu+ Duo v.2.0.1 OE 2.
As suggested by Angelofsky, after installing the image, avoid to restore any backup.

It`s told many times before, but ok 
Unrar/Unzip the file and put the complete folder called vuplus on a fat32 formatted usb stick.
Power off the vu duo with the switch on the back, now insert the usb stick in the front and make sure you`ve no other usb sticks attached.
Power on with the switch on the back and just follow the display on your box until it says that you should remove and reboot your box.
Then remove the stick and power off and on and off you go.

USB stick format for flashing has to be FAT32, it's not necessary to disconnect your internal HDD.
my mac only gives me the option to format msdos fat i dont have the option to format the pen to fat32 any suggestions

This is not MAC forum, but
format in Msdos fat, next initialize your stick, make partition FAT32.......tried this and i dont get the option for fat32 after initialisation of pen and trying partition ive even gug out an old laptop windows based formatted the usb pen to fat 32 tried to switch power off insert pen switch back on i still get the the machine not recognising the pen at all it just reverts to my machine being on the banner flashing constantly at bottom and not being able to access my menu button this is highly annoying me lolThis is not MAC forum, but

Just did see that U had BH 1.7.3....U bought the STB with the image pre installed on i1?
If so then U may have a colon,,,
!the banner thats flashing is the guide info banner on the bottom i can watch the tv after a while it settles but i can t access my main menu area with it asking me to make a back or restore so i have no access at all to the menu area or my recordings
